The Academy offers a clinical establishment as a valuable tool
for learning, and as a service to the community, providing massage
and facial skin care in a comfortable, professional atmosphere.
Under the direction of the Director of Training, students work
in a variety of situations they may encounter as a Professional
Massage Therapist, Beauty Therapist, Facial Specialist, Nail
Technician, or Cosmetologist, and gain valuable experience in
this training program.
The purpose of clinical training is to increase student exposure
to conditions commonly encountered in a massage and/or esthetic
business practice. Proper dress code during clinical practice
is mandatory Students of massage therapy are required to complete
65 hours of clinical massage and 160 practical massage for
a total of 225 service hours prior to graduation. Facial skin
care students are required to complete 30 hours of clinical
facials and 30 practical facials and 15 practical waxes and
15 clinical waxes for a total of 90 services prior to graduation.
Students enrolled in the beauty therapy program are required
to complete 65 hours of clinical massage, 160 practical massage,
30 hours of clinical facials, 30 practical facials and 15
practical waxing and 15 clinical waxing prior to graduation
for a total of 315 services prior to graduation. Students
enrolled in the nail technology program will be required to
complete 140 nail services. Students enrolled in the cosmetology
program will be required to complete 716 services.
